It's okay, to be here.
This season of death, ‘Winter’ has brought many endings into my life.
Some were foreseen, others were startling.
Despite of knowing, nothing truly prepares you for ‘death.’
Death that is woven in every form of existence.
Loss that impacts every ounce of who you are.
‘Death’ has knocked in all our doors.
We have all communed with this relative, and it’s not always easy…. to welcome them in.
but they visit, even if we feel unready.
Sitting with their medicine is not meant to be painless.
This relative comes to remind us of the life that ‘exists’ within death.
For our creation vibrates and grows in both.
Life and Death.
So once, death has come and shared their light. We are left- to dispose the ashes from its fire.
Fire that prayed over our ‘passing’ heart.
Fire that burned aging ties.
Fire that birthed a new bridge.
We decide how to release its embers of change.
This season has taught me that a ‘new bridge’ does not always feel ‘better’.
Nor does it mean that its greater.
For a new leaf, isn’t more worthy than a ‘curled’ dying leaf in the same pot.
They have both grown from the same roots.
The leaves aren’t pruned because they weren’t enough, but because their release manages and helps the plants growth.
It’s a sacred act that offers more space and resources of development to the new fresh stems.
A process of learning and shedding as we go.
It’s okay to know the purpose behind a departure.
It’s okay to be aware and be hurt.
It’s okay to know that you can walk the bridge, just as you are.
It okay to know that you don’t have to cross the ‘new bridge’ right away.
For the bridge has been casted, and change is not a goal that is meant to be overcome.
It’s a relation- that cradles and supports our essence with life-long teachings.
We decide how to integrate into this ‘unknown’ phase.
The unknown is a place with infinite possibilities.
It’s a stream that drifts in all directions and shifts from high to low.
Its flow is natural and creates balance for our soul.
May this death wake your spirit and revive your heart.
